WHY JOIN THE CADET CORPS?
Are you
bored with being a ‘couch potato’ and not achieving anything? You can
find fun, friendship, adventure, teamwork and a real experience of life
and learn how to look after yourself and others. Find out just how
fulfilling it can be to be part of a team, developing qualities and
potential that employers will really value.
PARENTS,
WHY SHOULD YOUTH JOIN?
A sense
of achievement, self discipline and motivation are lacking in some
youngsters today. The Cadet Corps will often discover their true
potential quickly, developing new skills and attitudes, improving their
self-confidence, maturing more rapidly and learning to enjoy helping
others instead of thinking only of number one!
EDUCATION, WILL THE CADET EXPERIENCE HELP?
Cadets who self-start – using both
brain and body, developing mental and physical resilience – are more
alert, more receptive, keener to achieve and make for better students.
It is envisaged that as the programme becomes established in the
secondary schools nationwide, the Cadet Corps achievements could be
included in the school leavers ‘Record of Achievement’
EMPLOYMENT, CAN THE CADET CORPS MAKE A
DIFFERENCE?
The advantages are clear. The young men and women
in the Cadet Corps are mature in outlook, confident in their own
ability, self-disciplined, loyal, committed and more especially – used
to working as part of a team. Time spent in outdoor adventurous
training and challenging leadership development pursuits gives a Cadet
far more incentive to achieve, both within the work environment and as
an individual.
